봄꽃 이야기 (5)-새끼노루귀와 섬노루귀. Flora of Korea-Hepatica insularis, Hepatica maxima

 

새끼노루귀 (Hepatica insularis, 애기노루귀, Seaside liverleaf)
제주도에 자생하며 노루귀에 비해 작고 꽃과 잎이 같이 나온다.

 

섬노루귀 (Hepatica maxima, 큰노루귀,왕노루귀, Ulleungdo liverleaf)
울릉도에 자생하며 노루귀 보다 크다.

 

노루귀는 카멜레온처럼 자기가 처한 환경에 적응하는 능력이 뛰어나 내륙지방에서는 자생지에 따라 꽃의 색을 달리하고, 남해안 일대와 제주도 같이 척박한 지방에서는 식물개체가 작게 변형된 새끼노루귀로, 울릉도와 같이 부식질이 풍부하고 연중 공중습도가 높은 곳에서는 개체가 크고 상록성인 섬노루귀로 진화한 것이 아닌가 한다. (국가생물종지식정보시스템)

 

Hepatica (liverleaf or liverwort) is a genus of herbaceous perennials in the buttercup family, native to central and northern Europe, Asia and eastern North America. Bisexual flowers with pink, purple, blue, or white sepals and three green bracts appear singly on hairy stems from late winter to spring. As of January 2021, Kew's Plants of the World Online (POWO) accepts 7 species and one hybrid in the genus Hepatica:
